Well, that’s the whole idea of Pasar Terapung or Floating Market. This type of market is basically just the same as any other traditional market. The only difference is that the whole activities are done on the boats in the river. The sellers are selling out their merchandise on boat and the buyers should come to the seller on boat as well.
This unique traditional market can be found in South Borneo, Indonesia. Not different from the regular market, the whole river will be cramped and crowded with different kinds of boats. Another unique fact is that between sellers, they’re still doing barter. There’s no official board for these sellers so no one knows for sure how many sellers are there. They can come and go as they please.
