For any young and stylish teenager, spending time in Harajuku for fun on saturday is practically essential. Even older folks may wish to visit the area, though, to find out Meiji Jingu shrine and Yoyogi Park.

By train

JR Harajuku Station within the Yamanote Line is the well-known supply of to Harajuku. The station is very conveniently located close to the entrance to Meiji Jingu and the beginning of Omote-Sando.

Walking tour: Harajuku to Shibuya

A fascinating and recommended walk enables you to experience Harajuku and Shibuya, as well as the fashionable places in between.

Beginning the Takeshita exit of JR Harajuku station, walk instantly in the station down Takeshita-dori (????), the spot where you will almost certainly encounter the mingling pedestrian crowds. Once you achieve the starting crossroad, Meiji-dori (????), turn right.

Once you achieve the tree-lined Omote-sando, turn left. You don’t see any obvious Omote-sando street signs, and you will note a 2d story office with that name higher than the pink “Condominium” store on a single on the corners. (And no, that business is not purchased every size of condominium units.)

Omote-sando is home to the highest of high-fashion stores, including Ralph Lauren, Coach, and Yves St. Laurent.

The approximate half-way point is the place where Omote-sando meets Aoyama-Dori. There’s minimal appealing beyond this point, so one options to run back Omote-sando and come back to Harajuku. When you elect to skip forward then turn on Aoyama-Dori and you’ll eventually pass U . n . University for your right, and Aoyama Gakuin University on your own left, before continuing down and completing at Shibuya’s world-famous pedestrian crossing.
